Alicia Johnson, MA, LMFT
Accepting new clients in Oregon.
If you have found yourself here, you may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what comes next. You might be searching for a space to reflect, heal, or grow. I support adolescents, adults, and families navigating challenges related to mental health, identity, relationships, and life transitions.
About Me
Hello! My name is Alicia, thank you for being here.
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe to explore your experiences with honesty, creativity, and even humor. In sessions, I bring warmth, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit. You can expect a space where your story is honored and where you're gently supported in trying new perspectives or patterns. I often use metaphors, creativity, and real-life tools to help you move toward meaningful change.
I hold a Master’s in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy and an Eating Disorder Treatment Certificate from Lewis & Clark College. For the past six years, I worked at a residential program with Monte Nido, supporting adolescents with severe eating disorders—as a therapist and later in clinical leadership roles including Clinical Director. My work focused on managing a multidisciplinary treatment team and helping individuals and families navigate healing around food, body image, and identity. This work has deepened my respect for the courage it takes to heal your relationship with food and body. In addition to eating disorders, I have experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and issues related to self-esteem, identity, and connection.
I’m originally from the Bay Area and moved to Oregon for college, where I fell in love with the beauty and pace of the Pacific Northwest. Outside of therapy, you can find me reading a good book, volunteering at the local animal shelter, and exploring new places around the world. I also cherish spending quality time with my partner, family, friends, and my three cats.
If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you navigate your unique path toward healing and growth.
Approach
I believe therapy is most effective when it feels like a genuine human connection. I strive to create a space where you feel safe to be honest, curious, and even bring humor into the process. My style is warm, collaborative, and compassionate—and I’ll gently challenge you when it supports your growth.
My work is grounded in family systems theory, which means I consider the relationships, identities, and environments that shape your experience. I integrate creative tools and practical strategies to help turn insight into meaningful, sustainable change. I tailor my approach based on your goals and needs—whether we’re exploring identity, healing trauma, or shifting long-standing patterns.
Depending on what fits best for you, I draw from a range of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Experiential and Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Structural Family Therapy. I aim to offer a space that’s both supportive and empowering—where you can reconnect with yourself and move toward lasting change. I don’t just want you to survive life’s challenges—I want you to truly thrive.
